In this article, we will show you step by step instructions on how to check the Kodi version on your Raspberry Pi. Kodi is a popular media center software that can be installed on various devices including Raspberry Pi. Knowing which version of Kodi you have running can help you troubleshoot issues and ensure you are using the latest features available.

Checking the Kodi Version on Raspberry Pi:

  1. Open your Raspberry Pi and log in to the desktop.
  2. Open the Kodi application by either clicking on its icon or launching it from the terminal with the command kodi.
  3. Once Kodi is open, go to the main menu and click on “Settings” (the gear icon).
  4. Select “System Settings” from the list of options.
  5. Scroll down to find “About” and select it. This will bring up a screen with information about your Kodi installation.
  6. The top line on this screen displays the version number, which is the Kodi version running on your Raspberry Pi. It should look something like this: Kodi v19.2 Git:Unknown - Build Date: 2021-05-24 17:38:07.
  7. You can also find the Kodi version number in the top right corner of the “About” screen. This is useful if you want to take a screenshot or copy it for reference elsewhere.
  8. That’s it! You have now successfully checked the Kodi version on your Raspberry Pi. If you need to update or downgrade Kodi, you can do so from within this settings menu by selecting “Add-ons” and then “Install from zip file”.
